My leukemia's back.

Now that's something to look forward to.......NOT!

Happy Tuesday everyone. It's hard keeping track of the days of the week when you are retired. 6 Saturdays followed by a Sunday is what a friend calls it.

We laughing say we keep track of Monday...that's the day King of the Cage is on with mix martial arts fighting. Thursday, because it's the day we have to put the garbage out for pickup and finally Friday because we like to watch Ancient Aliens on TV the rest of the week is all Saturdays!

People keep asking us if we miss work. In unison, we say NO! We were talking today and we both admitted that the only thing we missed was our daily bike ride into the office. It was 11 miles round trip, the ride in mainly downhill with one gnarly hill. The ride home all uphill but by the time we rolled into the driveway we knew we had gotten a work out.

@perchie.girl, keeping my fingers crossed that you sail through the next weeks without any severe adverse reactions to the radiation.:fl

radiation was uneventful....

I am loosing weight which is not making them happy. The doc will weigh me sometime this week compare the weight to my starting weight for radiation...and tell me when I need to stop.

But.... When I weighed in at my doctors office in December I was 380 lbs. Weighed at my docs office today and I was 364.... I know its been up and down and up again since then... But Dang Stamina no aches and pains.... Its been a long time since I had a day like today....

For what its worth If I loose too much weight there is a serious chance I will get an overdose of radiation.... They can tweak it a bit for loss but not alot... If I loose alot they will have to recalcualte my treatment. Takes a week to do this.

I will toe the line.... And Eat Chunky Monkey and Cherry Garcia if necessary.... :gig

Work is a bit far for me to ride to. It also has a freeway in the middle of it. It is a 17 mile round trip.

You can still go on a daily ride though!

Time for ice cream right DD!

You can likely keep the weight up by adding protein drinks and still eating the carbs. For more details, go to body building.com and check out tips for bulking up!

Yeah, I always found that to be so bewildering. We would have a patient come in that was overweight and then they would be panicked when they lost weight...and these peeps weren't receiving radiation therapy. I can still hear the nurse I worked with looking at her nourishment tray and saying, 'this person needs to loose 100 pounds. Why are we giving them Ensure supplements?' The next week the dietitian would be notifying us of that patient being put on a 1800 calorie diet. They wondered why they saw marks on the wall where we pounded our heads on regular occasions, LOL.

But I can see their point where your treatment is concerned, though. Wasn't the purpose of going to the doctor back in December originally to be considered for bariatric surgery? All things happen for a reason, dear lady. Thank God you went and they found the problem that you are dealing with now. Just a little detour for you, Deb, but one you can handle.

@ronott1, we would love to be riding more than what we are now which isn't very darn much. Our roads here are pretty bad. Some roads 'alphabet roads' we call them with names like J, NN, etc are blacktopped along with the state roads and interstates but everything else is gravel. The blacktops have no shoulders and drop offs where the gravel meets the pavement. I had a wheel drop off the edge of the blacktop one day and dump me on the road. Luckily I was on a recumbent at the time so I didn't fall far. So we mainly ride mountain bikes on the gravel roads and on trails now.
