Well, they have changed the diagnosis from 'Lupus flareup' to 'shingles' that is affecting her internally ? This is what blood work seems to indicate. I learned long ago that medicine is far from an exact science. Just fix the kid !

I have heard of that, internal shingles. It can be nasty, but should then go away. So a much better choice than lupus flare up... I've kept mine for years. I just add something to it during big holidsys. For a while, back a while, I thought yours was a popcorn avvy.Glad your old avatar is back Cyn, now I know it is you. All the changing avatars on BYC goof me up. Otherwise I do double or triple takes to try and figure who is who. Eyes and memory don't work in lock step recognition.
Inside?? Ive not heard of that. DH suffered with it on the outside a few years back. Very painful. I've also learned .. recently.. that Drs don't always get it right first! Very frustrating. I was given gabapentin for shingles.
Painful as the shingles were, that is a better thing to have than Lupus.
