My leukemia's back.

Well, they have changed the diagnosis from 'Lupus flareup' to 'shingles' that is affecting her internally ? This is what blood work seems to indicate. I learned long ago that medicine is far from an exact science. Just fix the kid !
I have heard of that, internal shingles. It can be nasty, but should then go away. So a much better choice than lupus flare up... I think. :old

Glad your old avatar is back Cyn, now I know it is you. All the changing avatars on BYC goof me up. Otherwise I do double or triple takes to try and figure who is who. Eyes and memory don't work in lock step recognition.
I've kept mine for years. I just add something to it during big holidsys. For a while, back a while, I thought yours was a popcorn avvy. Then I kept reading about ice cream. Looked closer. Cute. :)

Inside?? Ive not heard of that. DH suffered with it on the outside a few years back. Very painful. I've also learned .. recently.. that Drs don't always get it right first! Very frustrating. Praying she gets some relief now .. fixed now!

Yes. I agree just fix her up. I hope this is easier to fix and faster. Will she be able to have the new Shingles shot when she is okay? Supposed to be much more effective.

You get two doses, months apart. Not awful but the first one - my arm was sore for weeks, didn't think it would ever go away. And since it was in my left arm gave my worry genes a chance to go wild.

I was given gabapentin for shingles.
Painful as the shingles were, that is a better thing to have than Lupus.

Well, she does have the Lupus - diagnosed at 5 years old. It's just not flaring this time - maybe. I'm still not sure that I trust the diagnosis. She was in so much pain on initial trip to ICU that they gave her morphine. I guess this is just another part of her hyperactive immune system. Good morning, Team, and thanks for your support.
