Yeah, it's all we've got right now. It's a 3+ hour to visit, and since she is still shedding the virus we've been hesitant to make the trip as I don't think that I have ever had chicken pox. I know, I know I have to get the shingles shot.

Oh boy and at your age you DONT want to catch them.... It was so hard when I got there chicken pox at 27 the last time I thought I would die.....

Wish I could get it.... Yeah needles don't bother me one bit...... Guess with all the medical stuff I have had it's a good thing too..... Had to self administer chemo for a long time with a needle......

WAIT!!! Don't get the shingle vaccine!! You can ONLY get shingles IF you had chicken pox. The virus hides in your spinal column for decades waiting for a second shot at giving you misery. Someone that didn't have chicken pox can get chicken pox if exposed to the oozing sore of someone suffering from a shingles outbreak.

Just don't touch her or anything that's been on her.

I read that over 90% of people over 45? Have had chickenpox. Not everyone remembers having them or symptoms were mild. Get the shot

Yup I had two mild cases before I got real sick with them...... Both were diagnosed by a doctor too.....

Getting chicken pox now would be hard since nearly all children have bee vaccinated for it for about 30 years.

Yeah they can say that but I've had to run for cover more than once because children had the pox.
Granted it's been a while..... But not that long.
Just like the whooping cough outbreak they had here last year.... Many people don't believe in the vaccinations....... But don't realize how many other people they put in jeopardy.
Kinda like some people that complain that their rights are being violated when they can't smoke in public places don't realize how hard that is on people with chronic long diseases...... Although many of them will find out some day when they have the same affliction.....

Yes!

There have been some immigrants that I read about that were told that vaccines were bad and did not get vaccinated for measles. Many of the children died from the outbreak.

Polio in some Muslim countries are like that too.
