My leukemia's back.

I had forgotten how much "stuff" has to be done after a person dies.

We STILL haven't gotten the obit out. My dad's students wrote 5, I wrote 1..... my mom said she liked mine for the New Braunfels paper .... but wanted to "correct" it.

She hasn't picked one yet for the Houston paper. :barnie

So yeah, not a single obit sent to any paper anywhere.

I guess it doesn't really matter if it is late....

I think most people have heard and know when the funeral is.

:idunno

BTW, my 5 kids have to sleep on the living room floor.... no blankets a few throw pillows, no privacy

my kids.... not a single word of complaint .... just "of course, no problem "

huh

maybe I should rent a hotel room... but then I wouldn't be here with my mom.....

Idk

my sis is here with husband and 7 kids. ... they take up 3 rooms. my mom gets 1 room.... and that is it, house is full.

Rent a room! You do not have to be there 24\7

it is crazy though.... the number of phone calls, and people.... and stuff that needs to be done...
Day time is for that stuff. Night time is for sleeping in beds. Remember, you do not have to do all of it. Many hands make a light load...and helps others take care of their own responsibilities

Al, It's up to you about the room situation. You've got good kids.
As to the obit, usually the funeral home gets a package deal from the newspapers. They get so many words for free, and anything after that will cost. They usually have someone walk you through with the pertinent information....dates, how long they've been a resident, where they've been a resident, place of employment, member of which church, clubs, organizations, survivors, and viewing/funeral dates and times. The funeral home should be helping you with other things too. A book to record condolence cards/telegrams/phone calls/etc. A tracking system for food, money, and other considerations, so you can send thank you cards later. You'll need to pick out, and take the clothes to them.
