I read that surgeons can cut off the extra skin
after weight loss, and it is used for burn victims. Better results for all parties involved.
I have never been able to lose more than 17 lbs. at any time but, never got it lower - even with extra exercise. I used to often walk 70-100 miles in a week, and do it week after week. Which probably helped ruin my knees.
Also carrying a heavy backpack with canned groceries from the store- I thought would help build bone so I wouldn't get osteoporosis - wrong there too. Was on Fossamax for
11 years and then started hearing and reading about it never being tested for long term use.(beyond 5 yr.) In some cases was causing abnormal jaw bone abnormalities. I told my doctor I wanted to stop taking it. He was upset but, said okay- and if I ever wanted to go back on he would be glad to prescribe it. I have not, and taking it during that time didn't improve my bone density at all.
