My leukemia's back.

@microchick I hope your health issues get easier to handle. It really sucks to not feel good all the time.

I had to have a bone density test before starting my estrogen suppressor to keep the cancer from coming back. Dr. said that at my age he would expect to see some calcium loss in the bones, but not me - I have exceptional bone density. I told him it was my Wisconsin high dairy diet and he laughed.

All that cheese? :D

I just read something that said that it's very hard to get all the calcium that you need from diet alone.

I went to this site and did the calcium calculator to see how much calcium I was getting from my food:

https://www.iofbonehealth.org/calcium-calculator

My calculation came out telling me I need almost 9,000 mg of calcium per week and at best I was consuming just under 6000 mg.

That's taking into consideration that I drink milk twice daily, eat cheese, yogurt and lots of veggies and fruit, not to mention calcium enriched foods like cereals.

Just popping in real quick to say “hi”. Hi.

Cynthia, Richard just amazes me all of the time! And so do you....no matter how much is on your plate you always have something uplifting to share.

Micro, so sorry to read of your medical problems. You are right, the “Room that Rachel Built” is absolutely the best place to be in any kind of crisis.

Morning Team Rachel.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. I'm fine with my diagnosis. Wish it was otherwise but the Good Lord doesn't put anything on your shoulders that you can't handle and I'm a firm believer in play the cards out that you are dealt.

I've had to modify some of my lifestyle, for instance, no lifting over 20-25 pounds which makes handling 50 pounds of chicken feed real interesting. Using a wagon to move stuff between shop and coop not to mention using good body mechanics which none of us do as we should. But all in all, I know my best defense is to keep moving which I do anyway.

Hi @Blooie! Always good seeing you. Yes, this thread is amazing and so uplifting. I'm glad y'all kept it going. Thank you.

One of the easier to digest calcium pills with Vitamin C is a good thing to do. Also, do not take magnesium at the same time. There is some research that suggest that causes heart issues
