My leukemia's back.

I've been around several asthmatics off/on during my life but one of the scariest situations involved a friend of my son's that came for a sleep over.

The boys were around 10 at the time. We all knew Davy had asthma but didn't know he'd forgotten his inhaler until he woke up gasping for air. I tried calling his parents, no answer. Davy's house was close by so I drove over as fast as possible, no one was home and Davy didn't have a key. By then Davy was really suffering. I charged into our local drug store with him, explained the situation to our pharmacist who was able to fix Davy up right away. If he hadn't been able to do that, our next stop would have been the ER. Thank god for a pharmacist that knew us, knew Davy and was able to handle things promptly. I don't know if that scenario would work in today's environment, but I was very thankful that it all worked out the way it did.

Scary when something like that happens to a child you're responsible for. We made sure Davy always had his inhaler when he came over after that.

Good morning Team Rachel. I hope everyone has a blessed day!

I got up early, and voted. I'm enjoying some coffee now. Dh is shoveling mulch into our utility trailer, and dumping it in the beds. I'm working on getting the kitchen cleaned back up. Sheesh! With 6 of us, it's a neverending battle.

There were 6 in the family growing up. We took turns cleaning and cooking so it was never one persons job
