My leukemia's back.

Talked to Lisa this morning, she's back to our sweet Lisa. Something..about no food I think. She thanked me for coming yesterday. We finally got out of .. same day surgery...around 6:30. It was good to hear her feeling better this morning.
Glad it ended better than it started. Seems like someone should have figured out she might need some sugar or something :(

@room onthebroom :fl they get your brother straightened out quickly. Good thing he went in rather than waiting out his assumed illness.

Yeah, doing the surgery before a heart attack has got to be better than doing it after one, right?!

My cousin called today. Her half brother took his wife Pam, to the Gainesville Hospital in GA. They live in a very small town in GA, and had been being sent from doctor to doctor in the little nearby towns, each claiming she has various issues, for the past 4 months. All of them have prescribed antibiotics for her, so she's been on antibiotics for 4 months, with no relief. When she kept passing out in the bathroom, he took her to the little local hospital. They got her semi-stable, put her on more antibiotics, and released her. When they released her, and she got in the car, he drove her half way across the state to a big hospital. They admitted her with double pneumonia, put in a breathing tube, and are running a multitude of tests. He's freaking out, because he really had no idea she was as sick as she is.

Teaching Hospitals are the best!

We have one here run by UC Davis. I work on Campus but have some contact with Med Center folks

Thanks everybody for your support. :hugs Cynthia, wow! What a harsh day! :barnie:hugs Did she end up getting to eat today before her treatment? :fl:fl
She won't be able to to start dialysis until this fishula grows, and gets strong enough..they say, 3 to 4 months. :/ . Hoping she can hold on until then. This surgeon thinks she will need the Cath port in the neck before the one in the same is ready. We are hoping when it's time for dialysis, she will get to eat before she goes!!!

Oh man! This can happen fast! Our neighbor friend across the street from us got it. Sounds very similar to your cousin. She has been in the hospital for a week and a half, and is finally getting close to coming home.. according to her hubby. She was in ICU for close to a week. I hope and pray things go well for your cousin too! :fl

I so agree about them figuring that out. I'm thinking they probably did..hurried her in once she lost it. In comes the anesthesiologist .to get her going. What?

Remember, I learned my lesson the hard way about going from doctor, to specialist, and being treated over a long span of time with no improvement. The pulmonologist (lung specialist) I was seeing, would have killed me if I had not taken matters into my own hands. I didn't go to the nearest, smaller hospital either. I went to the biggest teaching hospital in Tampa.
