My Light Brahma is HUGE

Not the best photo but the only one that gives a good top view perspective--you can't appreciate the difference from the side.

Here's Bindi my Light Brahma along side Eva the Easter Egger. I'm gonna guess Eva weighs about 5 lbs and Bindi double that...

I have a mixed flock and Bindi is tied for my favorite chicken. I liked her so much I just had to get a Dark Brahma, Millie, this spring. She is the friendliest most laid back girl we've had. She's going to be ginormous--here she is at about 10 weeks cuddling with DD:

Oh Oh! I have a dark brahma too! I guess I didn't realize Montana was a "dark". Unfortunately she isn't as friendly as everyone elses, but she seems to be coming around. This weekend she and Firecracker (a RIR) jumped on to my lap when I was out giving them treats! They have never done that before! And the best part??? they didn't poop on me!

I thought my brahma was huge until I got a standard Cochin! My cochin is so big and heavy that she can not fly and she's only 10 weeks old.

I need a little assistance. I have a mixed flock of what are currently 8.5 week old chicks. One of them is a light Brahma that already weighs almost 2.5 pounds. She's almost twice the size of everyone else including the 2 buff brahmas. I'm guess she's probably going to top out above the 9 lbs they say for Brahmas. So my dilemma: I'm trying to build ramps, ladders, doors etc. and am unsure how wide they're going to need to be to accommodate her full girth. Do any of the brahma owners out there have any thoughts? Don't mean to hijack the thread. I'm still new so they won't let me start my own. So my apologies!

I think you can start your own thread as a newbie, just can't post pics until you have a certain # post count.

There is only two things I did different for my LF brahmas (vs. my other standard birds). I made their pop door opening 18" wide and about 20" tall and a kept their roosts low to the floor; none over 2 ft. high, to prevent leg injuries when they jump down.

Here's the BYC Primer in case it didn't catch your eye:

So sad that I lost my light brahma at 5 days.

I plan on getting another one in the spring, if I can. I was really looking forward to having a huge girlie strutting around here.
