I have only seen a few cochins at fairs and shows, never owned any. However according to Henderson's Chicken Chart, a full grown brahma hen should weigh 9 lbs. A cochin, 8.5 lbs., making the brahma slightly larger.
The brahmas sail right through the hot Arkansas summers and through our winters. Every one I have is a calm, easygoing bird. We literally built my brahma coop around the birds and they were very nonchalant about it. Even my most skittish of the brahma girls settled down and became quite friendly once she reached maturity.

They sound just like the LF Cochin, very nice temperaments. They might be a great match to keep with my Cochins. And I just looked up the Dark BrahmaS and they're gorgeous. I love the bigger ones

My guys are still young, 12 weeks, but they are the sweetest especially the roo. Even though the light brahma, Morgaine, is much larger than everyone else in the flock she is never a bully she'll puff up is someone challenges her, but I've never seen her peck anyone. They are also lap birds. They all love to sit in my lap or my shoulder and be patted. Not quite as smart as some of my others, particularly my faverolles, but still easily trained.
