My little duckling

So I woke up this morning to find out that one of our duck eggs compleatly hatched! The baby is very cute (except it's covered in yolk still). I can't wait to watch it grow!

Btw, it's a Rouen, pekin mix

I have named my duckling Fern, and it's a sweetheart! It will cry if it's not being pet, and will fall asleep while I pet and hold it. We gave it a stuffed animal to single with, because it's the only surviving duckling in it's "litter", and I saw it's sitting atop of it.

Snuggle day.
So I had Fern sitting on my lay for about 20mins, and she loves it! She loves to nibble my hand. Is she trying to show affection? Here's a picture of her snuggling. (Ignore where it says "Crazy Helium Balloon App", longish story of why it says that)

I found an old picture of Fern's mom, Rosy, when she was about Fern's age! Rosy is a Rouen. Fern's father is a Pekin, but I don't know which one of our males is him.

Picture update of Fern! She's now over a month old and loves to sit on my lap. She's so sweet! She loves to tickle me. She'll take her beak and nipple my stomach and if I laugh and try to get her to stop, she'll do it more hahaha.
