My girls (some 1 week old some 2) have their brooder in the garage. Today is a rainy day so the Mosquitos are out. While I was cleaning the brooder out a dreaded mosquito came in and they all ran from it like their lives we in danger from this alien invader.

One of our deals was eat bugs! It was simple, I build you a house and feed and water you, you lay eggs and eat bugs.

When will they live up to their agreement? Or do I have "special" girls?

If they are only a few weeks old maybe they're afraid of them because the Mosquitos are able to bite them being they don't have feathers yet. Which is what I'd assume. I don't think your girls are "special" in that way yet, maybe they need to mature enough and will realize "hey they're yummy!"

Can't say I blame them...I'm afraid of those nasty mosquitoes too!! Our older ones chase any flying bug, so I'm guessing yours will come around eventually. My babies always seem a little unsure when they encounter new things, but instinct seems to kick in as they get older.
