For all those that have recently purchased the My Little Playhouse from Lowes, please share your interior layout ideas with pictures if possible. Please indicate the number of chickens you are housing. It helps to get some idea of what is available in terms of coop population.

I am thrilled to be a part of such a generous community. I am constantly amazed by the cleverness and thoughtful exchanges that take place daily here at BYC.
Many thanks,
ChinaChick

This what we did with 2 of the 4x4x6 playhouses, we built them with the back walls removed and connected them as per instuructions. As you can see we turned one window wall upsidedown to use as the hen door. The rest of the windows will have screening and an inside closure for the cold days. The door panel is on the side for cleaning and egg collection.
More pics to follow as we finish up with nesting boxes, roosts, feeder and the run.

what a fantastic idea! I have not even taken mine out of the boxy yet. Been too busy with the hatches..... Thank you so much for sharing your great idea. Looking forward to seeing what others have done!

Just wanted to add, it looks crooked because we had a piece of plywood under it, and it hasn't been bolted to the floor yet. I'm going to paint the trim a soft charcoal black, because that's the color of the shutters on my house. We'll be posting pics again as we go...still have the run to do!

Oh, and because we had two houses, we had an extra door. We'll use that for the gate to the run, that will tie the coop and run together.

Julie and Cliff,

What a terrific idea for using the two playhouses.

The coop looks super, and it will give you plenty of room. Very, very nice!

Thanks for the pics.... I'm looking forward to seeing how you use the space inside the coop.
