Well thank you so much. I try, but.....

I will say my dang ducks have stripped some of my planted that my chickens never even looked at. They also managed to wiggle underneath the netting I have up to keep the dogs and chickens out of my flower beds. The chickens have sometimes flown over into them, but the beds are a bit too crowded for safe landings and quick hop overs aren’t easy either. The ducks though, hmmmph, they’ve just plowed under it. I’ve scared the bejeesus out of them and also tightened up the netting, but I had to put boards and old long empty flower pots alongside the netting to really keep them out. My ducks just act like they own the place! How dare them. :gig
Last year Erpelchen, my Buff Orpington drake, pushed down the plastic fence around the tomato plants and let the ducks in. I can't remember how many times i grabbed him and threatened with the pressure cooker! :barnie

Ha ! Mine do that too ! I've come into find a row of duck bottoms, wagging tails and all, sticking out from under garden liners (the little madams !).

Apparently its where all the bugs are, and if we don't give them exactly what they want, when they want it, they have total rights to menace the garden.....
Pictures! Please!!! :bow
That sounds too funny! :lau

:lau Even though I suffer from CRS quite often I definitely remember that! 😜 The subject matter was slightly off and very interesting to say the least and my response to one of your posts was edited (first and only time that’s happened.)
You are suffering from Catholic Relief Services ?? :gig
I now wonder what kind of relief they offer… 😊

Oh someone else edited it ??!!

My bad - am forever editing my own due to duff spelling (old enough to still care !).

Cannot imagine what you wrote that was 'bad'- am loving your posts !

Remember being offended does not mean by default someone is right. X
And then there are the professionally offended... :(

Same here! My ducks would kill for your pond!

Dux will use any and all excuses/reasons to kill. It’s in their nature. They are truly natural born killers..

So let me tell y’all what happened this morning when I let the ducks out! Of course they went straight for the water. Peaches immediately jumped up on Petey, which is normal. When Peaches did her thrust and grunt and fell to the side, Ralphie thought he’d better jump in on the action and he did. But, what he didn’t know was Peaches was right behind them.

Now, y’all know I’m a worrier. I stood there to see if what I was wondering/worrying about would actually happen. Before Ralphie Dux could even fall to the side, Peaches had already grabbed hold of the corkscrew worm. I felt so sorry for him. Even though I saw no blood, I know it HAD to hurt. He immediately jumped out of the pool and began shaking his tail feathers. (I guess that aids in retraction.) He had a bit of trouble.:(
Almost the same thing happened to Erpelchen Drake last year!
In an instance he went from Casanova to Castranova
He has fully recovered since then and is one of the worst x-offenders in spring!

I think Ralphie might be 'resting' for a while after todays antics.......?
I remember Erpelchen taking a »day off in da pool« together with Limpy after his encounter with Blanca Duck. They both just sat there and were rasping all day long. - And didn't allow any duck to get into the water.
