Dux poop 5 times their body weight everyday. The longest recorded dux pool travel 1427.3 ft in 0.04 seconds..
True fact.
Just five times? - That can't be true for Blanca Duck!!! She ate three large toads, countless tadpoles and newt larvae, toad eggs by the bucket, a handful of cat-food, a pound of pellets, ½ bin of fodder and started to nibble at a wild rabbit in the afternoon. And that's only what i saw!

You are kidding about the poop shooting across the room, right? Maybe exaggerating a little? Oh boy! I’ve got a lot of duckie stuff to learn. But I’m game, only because they are beyond precious.

Speaking of flipping onto their backs, I’ve had two that flipped over on their back and seemed to not be able get flipped back over. I helped them both times. I’m sure they can flip back over themselves, but it just scares me.

We are supposed to be back up into the upper 70’s to 80’s beginning this weekend. It will be fun to let them see and feel the outside world.
When they are little they sometimes need help to get back upright. I always have to stop laughing first at their little feet frantically wiggling in the air. As they get older they will stop falling over on their backs but ducks are clumsy and inclined to falls when they get going fast.

Try baked sweet potato (cold, of course!) - i still have the orange spots on the wall in my office…
Dang! - Now i have full blown duckling fever!!! I was even tempted to let Pompom Duck go broody this afternoon… 😯
Why not everyone needs a few ducklings fluffy butts for the spring! But what’s a few more.

Absolutely no kidding! My Spring Ducklings did that all the time, especially the White Layers because they were the most curious ones. They were shooting their poop-bombs three feet out of the kiddy-pool - or against the wall, depending on the direction.
My Indian Runners still do that from time to time: Standing as vertical as they can, then start preening their bellies and suddenly toppling over on their backs. Followed by a scared QUACK! and poop flying through the air. I was wondering why i was finding poop three feet up at the walls of the duck-house until i once witnessed the whole thing.
And no one even mentions this kind of thing before getting ducks. :gig I’m just playing. It’s okay with me if they shoot poop cause they are so darn cute!:love

Holy cow, BatDuck! That’s a lot of stuff! She sounds lime me since I’ve been put in prednisone! 🐖🐖

Good morning Duck Lovers. My babies have a full belly (or crop) and down for a nap now.

It is now time for my “Concern of the Day.”
Twinkle, the puny Saxony will not take her vitamin B. I let it slowly enter her mouth, but it just leaks right out the other side of her bill.

She is eating, drinking and pooping, but still spends more time under the heat than the others. She still looks 100% better than she did as far a balance, coordination, etc. I know, I should have weighed them when I received them, but...dang hindsight is 20/20.

However, I did weigh them all this morning, so today will be my starting point, so to speak.

Twinkle weighs the least (of course) at 1.92 oz. And again, the Saxony breed may be a smaller breed. IDK

Quinny, WH, comes in at 1.96 oz. To look at them the WH looks smaller than the Saxony.

Hershey, Choc Runner, 2.12 oz.
Latte, F/W Runner, 2.44 oz.
Peaches, BO, 2.97 oz.
Petey the Pig, White Layer, 3.15 oz.

They are 4 days old.

I have put the Vitamin B on boiled egg yolk and of course they all gobble it up, whereas the puny just nibbles it. Any ideas on how to successfully get the meds in her, or is she progressing okay enough to assume she is receiving enough?

Thoughts?
Hugs?
Slaps upside the head?
🤣🤣

Thanks y’all!
