Oh my stars, I LOVE it. They are precious and obviously love being loved on. It looks like you’ve got two different ages (though close together.) How has that worked out? That’s the only reason I did not have Metzer send me a replacement for my little Saxony that died. I wasn’t sure how’d they get along.

Also, I thing the swan straw bed is so cute. The entire theme is beautiful. You have some very lucky, and spoiled duckies for sure. I want to hang out with your babies!!!!!!!

it’s too bad you don’t have a Ralphie dux. They are the only dux I trust even a little.

But, every Ralphie Dux our there has been darn near perfect (for a dux).

I don’t need a Ralphie dux, that’s what you’re for. I think you were a duck in your previous life and you came back as a HUMAN and you’re pissed.

Yesterday was Petey picture day. And it was all of the babies’ birthday! Happy Birthday you 5 weeks olds! My how time flies!

Petey came out of the water and wanted hugs!

Poor Petey - She has a significant receding hair line. It looks like she’s an old man losing his hair. Or Einstein or someone with all crazy hair. Bless her bones.

Here the boogers are, first at 6:30 this morning when I let them out. Yep, they hit the water straight away. (Clockwise starting with Hershey, the one you can barely see - only because she blends in with the dirty water, Petey, Latte, Quinny, and Peaches.)

I put the netting up because after they got in the bigger pool, they went all crazy and started flipping out over the high sides and then plopping down onto the ground. It wasn’t pretty and I bout flipped out cause I thought Peaches might have hurt her leg. Luckily she didn’t, but I immediately put up the barrier. It then took me a few minutes, okay more like 15 or 20, to get them to understand the concept of the new ramp. We all finally settled on the third variation. They’re happy and so am I.

And now they are in the same spot, only snoozing, except Petey. She’s got her eye on my DH trying to start the tiller. I think she’s nosy.

I don’t want to start digging to install a ‘pond’ just yet. I want more of a feel for it all before I do something permanently.

There’s just something calming about watching ducks on the water, moving slowly around the surface without hearing or seeing the ‘motor.’

Petey already knows where the good stuff grows! - When the Duckies see me with shovel, spade or tiller they all come running to see what tasty morsels their servant will dig up…

I’ve been staining the play set today and I noticed the ducks got out of the water to eat but started complaining loudly all of a sudden. I walked up to them and noticed their bowl was about empty. I poured more in and they were so happy and immediately got quiet.

And so it begins: You just had your first training session in becoming a duck-servant…

Do ducks snore?

I wouldn't call it snoring, but ducks seem to make little noises all the time during their sleep. When they were ducklings, the White Layers were makings sounds like "peeps, peeps, yum,yum,yum,yum"
Now it's more like "wak, wak, num,num,num,num".
