My Love Affair With Ducks...

Back in the winter, I'd sometimes just sit in the coop with my poultry for thirty or so minutes, just listening to them and petting them.
I'd love to add some ducks -- they're so cute! Unfortunately, our pond isn't quite big enough to have water in it all summer long, so the ducks wouldn't be as happy.
Boy, I must sound absolutely nutters to Ralphie....

My ducks prefer their little kiddie pool over the big natural pool we have here! You really don't have to have a pool to have happy duckies.

I still need a name for my broody duck, @MischickenNY suggested "Gracie", but at the moment there is noting graceful with that duck! - Whenever she dares to come outside, she runs around like a pinball, quacking loudly and running over the drakes…

My suggestion is Judy, as in Broody Judy, and here is why.

There was an episode on “The Andy Griffith Show” called The Fun Girls, and their names were Daphne and Skippy (which has nothing to do with this). But both women were very spastic and loud. In the episode, Goober was imitating Cary Grant saying “Judy, Judy, Judy” over and over, making The Fun Girls just cackle. It was hilarious to say the least.

By the way, Momma Duck earned her name today:

One of the neighbors came over to show the duck to his 5 year old granddaughter.
While she was feeding them with cat food, i told her the names of the ducks and how they earned those, Blanca was obvious and Alba means the same, just in Romanian. Explained that Nona came from Noname and the story about Katharina, my nurse from 18 years ago. Showed her a picture of Bazilla in my lap with her bumble-foot shoe and she would love to see Earthquack making Ducknamis in the pool

Something crazy came loudly quacking out of the duck house and started to run left, right, back and forth at ludicrous speed bouncing off the drakes running over ducks like bowling pins…

"So", said the five year old girl, "that ducks name is Pinball ?"

I was flattened! She just stated the obvious: That duck behaves like a the ball in a pinball machine, so her name now official is Pinball Duck.

Me too! - I was calling her a pinball or a bowling ball on legs and did not recognize that this would be the right name for her!
