Ducks....... How ADUCKING!

The four summer ducklings are three weeks old today and I have posted some videos of them in my other thread (here).
They are the largest three weeks old ducklings i've seen ever! - Not that i have seen many three week old ducklings, but they are taller than the White Layers were at that age last year, they have super long and strong legs and outrun some of the mature ducks.
Eagerly waiting to hear some quaxing…

Looks like all three are gray and white. Welcome to hybrid ducks, or Frankenducks. That size didn't pass to the second generation. My 7 week olds are smaller and slower growing. They still are not full feathered.

My ducks this year seemed to grow like weeds too.
4 weeks and I couldn't keep them indoors anymore. Out to the coop with a heat lamp and some chicken wire to separate the bigs from the littles. They were eating pellets at 3 weeks and could reach the top of a 50 gallon tub at around 3 weeks. Kept jumping on top of a milk jug to try to get out.

Ha my Rouen at three weeks jumped out the morning and ran through the porch door into the kitchen and a merry chase ensued. It could have been set to yackity sax as his brooder mate screamed alone.

I did that last year. made the mistake of using a kiddie pool. Worked week 1 but they QUICKLY figured it out after a week and would just pop up over the edge. Woke up to them in the corner screaming at me

One year I brooder in the guest bedroom. They know how to measure directly the middle of under the bed. Now it's always the porch. these two need to go up to the barn but I need to do a duck shuffle up there first.

My drakes do head bob as much as the ducks.

Mine do too! The best is when all three Cayuga get in sync haha

I’ve never seen my Runners or Muscovy drake Bob their heads that’s funny, boy the girls sure do though.

Miss Piggy and Porky are our first two Mallard hens of our flock. Porky has a regular similar head bob twisting motion toward the ground that she does as she cackles for whatever the reason and Miss Piggy doesn't. She only does it for a little bit and quits, must be their own unique corks ?
