Leroy brown was eaten yesterday. I was supervising their outdoor time and thought it was safe to go pee. Three minutes. That coyote must have been watching in the bushes. 3 minutes and she was gone. Coyote only eats hens that are sweet and about to lay. She had developed speckled on her bill and was a huge Franken duck. Of course coyote left poor meat syndrome duck that I can't get the courage to dispatch.

He's a Pekin and grew too big for his legs. Vitamin B didn't help. His legs tremble after about 30 seconds and he has to sit down. His wings are also too heavy. I know I need to dispatch him but keep thinking maybe one more week his legs will grow into him. This happens with meat birds. Perkins and some chickens. So he is basically a sitting duck but gets passed over by the coyote for my layers.

Sugar is a must for hot tea. I can drink iced tea unsweetened if I have to, but I much prefer sweet iced tea.

The Frankenducks are fun to watch. Picture A Pekin waddle and a Runner run combined . Our two are almost as fat as their mom and taller than their runner dad. They are even bigger than their Runner Rouen drake brother.

And they don't waddle, right? They run like hell!
