They do indeed! Favourite over here is basil and chives, but thyme and lavender lasts a little bit longer with the smaller leaves.

Proper thug life when you don't always get your favourite pot of herbs!

I do feel bad that they can't free roam though so the least I can do is give them some plants to nibble. They enjoy a good head of iceberg or little gem as well!

I swear there was a pheasant on this stump when I pressed the button!
Fun fact: the pheasant is the fastest running bird in the UK and can hit almost 65 km/h.

Not pheasant related but I am so happy that the hotel now has hens again! We kept a small flock earlier but because of a predator visit last summer and old age our rooster was left alone with the ducks - today however we took a trip to rehome some ex commercial hens from an egg farm and give them a lovely retirement home.
After dealing with the pheasants for so long it suprised me how chilled out they were. When catching them I just sort of walked into the run and picked them up. Just like that. Even though they haven't been kept as pets.

Look at them though! They are beautiful! I am so pleased they can now live like proper chickens.
