My lovely yellow goldens.

Sometimes they just don't get along, even if they have been together since hatching.
I’m sorry to hear that, but it was the right thing to do for your girl 🙂

Yeah, birds can be properly cruel too. If I had other enclosures to rotate or any other way to sort of "break them out of it" I would have tried, but since I don't this felt like the best option.

She has gone to a pet home and they have been looking for a female for a very long time. I know they will look out for her.

They have been very sweet so far in keeping me updated.

I'm sorry to hear that as well. But t it sounds like the right move.

I don't know the situating in your country, but here for most of the ornamentals it seems like males are pretty easy to come by, and hens are only available as part of a pair.

I get it. Who wants to eat a golden pheasant cock bird, but everyone wants a trio.

Best wishes!

Thank you. <3 It has worked out really well.

Yep, it is the same here. Hatching eggs are also easy to come by but that's a always a gamble of course.

They will sometimes do that, doesn't necessarily mean they will go broody but at least they haven't lost all their instincts.
All my girls are quite "fussy" with the eggs and if I empty the nests completely they will move them (that's why I simply always leave one egg in there). Buttercup acted the same. I have a feeling they would go broody if I left them to it.
Either way it's kind of cute to watch. :)
