Wow, after reading some of this, I now think the ganders at one of the lake parks I go to are really nice! Kids run around and yell all the time around them and I've yet to see a threat from them. Of course the kids are scared to death of them, but the geese don't get mean as long as the kids respect them.

Feral geese or wild geese will tend to be more respectful of people because the boundaries have not been removed. Some geese or ganders that have been overhabituated to humans will become human aggressive. It's just a fact. Remember the pecking order.
