My Mille laid her first egg! **Egg Pic Added**

They really are one of my favs too. I had 4 millies until our neighbor's dog got ahold of 2 of our millies this past wk (as well as 8 others!)

. Whatcha gonna do - it's what can happen if you let your chickens free range while you're at work. I have some millies in the bator from Chickenzoo and some Porcelain Millies from Gatekeeper, so hopefully these new babies will ease the grief of losing those. Sure hope I have a good hatch.

Is it possible the egg was from another bird? She looks a little young to be laying.......my 2 have very red comb and waddles and they reddened up before laying.

Yea mille eggs are cream colored, not dark. I think it may be from another chicken, although she should start laying soon. FYI that pic is from a few months ago according to firedove.

either. Firedove, can you post a pic of your hen for us maybe?

Same here, both of mine lay cream colored eggs.

All my other hens eggs are accounted for so unless it's some wild bird egg it's from her. Plus way too tiny and dark to be from anybody else, mine all lay cream to medium brown eggs. I only have one other bantam and she lays a medium size funny shaped cream colored egg.

ETA: Yes that pic was from November

and

I am getting impatient with my camera battery not charging fast enough!

I wish MY Mille would lay an egg..... she'll be a year old this April and as far as I know she hasn't laid a single egg!

Sorry about your Mille Guitartists, I hope she gives you an egg soon. Does she free range? Maybe she is hiding them?

It IS possible

That would be my luck...a stash of eggs somewhere where I'll NEVER find them! LOL Wow... that egg is dark
