I am so sorry you are going thru this. I ask the powers that be to cover Robin and her family in comfort and warmth. To give them the strength to get thru the here and now. To let it be know that she has a bigger family than she can imagine to help her thru the pain. Robin, as it has been said, we are here for you.

Today we got the results from the fluid they drew off mother's lung. It was negative for bacteria so there is no infection which is very good. However, the fluid build up has started again already and now they are giving her lasics to try and get the overload under control. She is also having panic attacks now that are brought on by the breating treatments so they have discontinued those and are giving her something for anxiety.
I was told officially by the Dr today that this is the down hill slide and to prepare myself. Mother told them she wants to be home and she is ready for Hospice to come in so they are working toward that goal. As soon as she is stable enough she will be sent home and whatever will be, will be. I don't know how long before they get enough rein on this to send her home but I believe it will be much better for all involved if she is at home with her things about her and surrounded by her loved ones. I pray for this to occur soon so that she can calm down and relax a bit. She is never at ease in a hospital be it patient, or visiter so hopefully she can be discharged soon.

Having gone through Cancer with my father.. I can tell you that being home and around familar things does have a calming effect..
I am sending prayers for strength as your family goes through this very difficult time. Rejoice that her pain will be over.

Shelly
