Aw, Im sorry. I get so sad when chicks get culled, but it has to happen sometimes.Just saw one of the pearls flopping around in the main brooder, I took him out, red swollen hocks. Legs were turned sideways, looked like the tendons slipped. I culled him since he seemed in pain. He was fine yesterday.

My first incubator coming this Wednesday hopefully!
Congratulations! What kind did you get and what's going in first?
With that I would say just make sure you have calibrated/salt tested thermometers and hygrometer, because I think the biggest concern is accuracy of the included tech. Congrats!View attachment 2385367Probaly better choices, but I am on a price limit.
I'm going to put quail eggs in it, once I get some fertile ones. I'm sure my boys won't let me down...Hopefully.....Congratulations! What kind did you get and what's going in first?
This is probably a incubation temperature related issue. I would set a small batch of eggs to double check your temps.Just identified and banded 2 more blind ones, both pearls, not even silvers or super white, so it isn’t just a SSC to SSC issue.
I have eggs set since Wednesday, but the thermometer/hygrometers independent and internal are still showing steady temps, same as all my previous hatches. This is probably a incubation temperature related issue. I would set a small batch of eggs to double check your temps.
