My name is Cindi, and I'm a chickenaholic. :)

Really? They ate each others' eyeballs? That is gross! Ok, turkeys are off my list. I love this thread! I had the chicken addiction so bad that i built coops in small cities on our 10 acre farm. And i refused to count chickens because if you didn't count them, you never had to deny how many there are
Exactly. You're just keeping yourself honest. If someone asks you can just say "A few". It's not lying, if you don't actually know how many there are. Makes sense to me

Oh that is so gross.
Hey Pitbull mama, can you teach your Pits to heard your chickens?
just curious.

Yeah, no! I keep my dogs and chicks separate, lol. My pit would probably be the most trustable than the other two (beagle/jack and chihuaha/pug, both crazy landsharks) but bottom line is, they're dogs. And they're wild and undisciplined. :) So never the twain shal meet! :)

Well, here it is 3 months after that first post.

Somehow, I went from that first little batch o' bantams (5) to 14 chickens, in 3 different setups now. In addition to the O.C.'s (Original Chickens) who are out in their coop and run, I now have four 8-10 week old Ayam Cemanis in quarantine, and a new batch of five 1.5 week old babies in the brooder: another MFD, an Egger, a Blue Favaucana, and 2 Buff Brahma bantams.

All I think about is chickens. I am IN LOVE with my chickens. My husband and my dogs are feeling neglected. I cannot believe how this chicken addiction has taken over my life. Everyone around me is really, really sick of hearing about my chickens. But I just love them! It is the craziest thing, this chicken addiction...

Wow, all in three months! I think I got some immunity built up when I was younger. I learned to mostly hate the "nasty stinky slimy" chickens then. But when you have as many as we had then, it's a different experience, I'm sure. Now, with just a few birds and me being in charge, I have high hopes it will remain an enjoyable experience. I'm definitely not jumping in as hard and fast as I could. But I've got to admire you @pitbullmomma ! You go girl!

Hi Cindi. It sounds like you may have a serious case of OCD, or Obsessive Chicken Disorder. I have it, most of the people of BYC do.:lau It just means you love your chickens way to much, which is a GREAT thing, but for @PD-Riverman, who thinks there is nothing wrong with having 1,200 chickens running around (how many acres do you have?), it might be a more serious case and a bit of a problem. LOL! You're normal!
