I simply can't get off the site. I have been drooling over different incubators. So much so that i have gathered all the supplies except a few to build a Bread Box Bator like MissPrissy. I have coveted other peoples chickens, reveling in the different feather styles and color variations. I have ooh'ed and aahh'ed over fuzzy butts. I have read, with a great deal of dismay, over the losses of chickens due to negligent dog owners and wildlife. My name is Melissa and I am a BYC addict.

When I first got chickens I thought I would just have some chickens. Now I am in the same boat as you! I have a chicken breed Wish List, I am buying in incubator in a month or two, and now I have ducks!!!

hi my name is shelia , my problem started 14 weeks ago ordered 15 babys got 26 then ordered 15 got 16 then ordered 10 got 11 and i have 10 more coming thur. Im thinking I have a serious problem!!

Well I'm here to tell you that I've been doing this for 42 years now and it don't get any better. Raising poultry! There is no end in sight. You'll always find new and interesting birds. The best advice I can give is to just hold on and enjoy the ride!

yeah, I have the same problem. And DH wonders why the house is a mess and what I am doing all day......I tell him "Ahhh chickens"

All I can say...is Welcome to the insanity!!! I started with...' just 6 or 7 for eggs for DH and I" I now have...
The South coop...4 seperate pens and runs..

1) Banty Cochin Frizzles ( 6)
2) White Leghorns ( 6)
3) 4 each Barred Rock pullets and cockerells and 2 Welsummer pulletts.
4) EE ( 8 hens and a roo)

The Turkey coop...3 hens and a Tom

The grow out pen...8 young Turkeys and a Guinea( wandered in)

grow out pen #2 51 Cornish Cross.

The reds coop...13 RIR/x ( all the mutts are in there)

The Buff Coop 13 hens 1 Roo...and a Dom hen...oh, and a mean little frizzle hen( she thinks she is a BO)

The Batchlor pad... 2 Leghorn Roos.
We are working on another coop...will have 4 rooms..and seperate pens. Its 12 x 30. Yup...its an addiction all right...and I am in LOVE WITH IT!!
