I take the chickens magazine and Backyard poultry magazine to work with me to read. I read them from cover to cover each time a new one comes out. It's unbelievable how much you can learn from them and the photography is awesome. I even catch my co-workers browsing through them and commenting on the articles. Worth every penny of their price.

from West Virginia! I got my chicks this year so I'm new to this. I bought 6 (1 died) but I'm now down to 5. Supposed to be all pullets...wrong...got a rooster in the mix.

I am SOOOO looking forward to babies!!! My coop and pen will probably hold 6 chickens comfortably but I want some bantams... so that means I have to expand..and seeing all the pics on here of everyone else's chickens is not helping!!!

Anyway, we will "help" you attempt to get over your chicken math...NOT!!!

We all want more chickens...the more the merrier!!!

Thank you all for the warm welcome. OHHHH, WOW I had no idea about the chicken math BUT its funny I was already doing it. Because when someone asks I never indicate the total number. I tell them well I have 16 BR, 5 Cinnamon Brown, 3 Welsummer, 4 OEG, 3 B/W Wyandott, 3 BO, and so on. Now that I think about it I'm not sure I know exactly how many. I just count by breed and then if I'm missing one I know which one to look for. Huh its just the nature of chicken addiction I guess. LOL
