My neighbor won’t stop complaining

i let them out of the coop during the day. our Run ended up having holes in it so they ate the grass seed. They pretty much now have free access to the yard as they have for four years.
Is their egg song pretty regular? Maybe you could keep them in the house for it and then let them out?

I agree, since you are legal, just ignore her complaints.
I’m not expecting her to harm them. However I’m interested in her not escalating this like with the cops, or trying to get other neighbors on her side. Even if warrantless, that’s an issue I have to now deal with.
But you may want to consider buying a trailcam (pointed only at your own property) just in case she decides to "shut them up" herself. Maybe not harming them, but she may try to harass them.
I'm so sorry you have to go through this🙁

As long as you are legal in your county, town and neighborhood zoning, I'd ignore her. Maybe start passing out fresh eggs to the other neighbors. You've received good advice so far, no trespassing signs with be useful. Some states have laws concerning recording property that isn't yours without consent.

Is your yard securely fenced so that your chickens NEVER leave it?

If so, then all of the above stands.

If not, then it's a different situation. You are 100% responsible for keeping your animals on your own property without exception. :)

I have six hens, under the county limit. When they lay, they sing egg songs. Sometimes I can dissuade them with a little shouting or feed, but normally that’s what they do.

My neighbor is on me constantly to shut them up. She, I swear truth, videoed a recording of them claiming they were louder than a jet plane flying into the nearby airport. I asked her if she’d appreciate me videoing her dinner parties for sound. She denies she has any.

Anyway. The rule in our county is that ppl can make noise until 10 pm. Everyone puts up with others leaf blowes, construction noise, adolescent musical tries and so forth because there’s not a choice about it. And as my birds are legal, same situation.

She keeps insisting on more talking about it, and I think I am done, but she is just the biggest Karen ever.

Should I just ignore her from now on?
Put up a camera & post no trespassing signs. Press charges if she steps on your property .

I’m in California. The chickens live in the backyard. One day four years ago, two got out of the gate and wandered to her front yard. I went and got them before she ever knew.

She didn’t start complaining until the last year. Before that she was busy running her small business, now defunct, and dealing with the care situation of her father, now passed. Shes now home 247 and apparently feels entitled to silence 247.

She is getting obsessive. Like she really said that she wants me to be videoed by her yelling at my chickens because she thinks that alone is making them shut up. No, actually, it’s my going out there and also shaking a rake in their direction, or feeding the, or whatever to induce temporary distraction.

If they aren't noisy except when they lay why chase them with a rake to make them be quiet? Thats the worst time to stress them out is when they're laying.
