Heart of Dixie
My neighbors are afraid of my sweet turkeys! They are also afraid of the ducks! They want me to keep them penned up so they won't wander into their yard. Ok, it is their yard! They have a right not to have turkeys or ducks wandering over there and eating all their delicous ticks and other creepy crawlies. I suppose they want to keep them all for themselves. Anyway, my sweet turkeys (who never hurt anything on two legs or four legs either) and my ducks, are now confined to their run. Poor babies! I'll have to go to the bait shop and get them some crickets later.

Poor ducks

At Least there not like my neighbors, shoot them, then come tell me.
Now we have a fence down the property line and they stay on the right side of the fence.
Now the neighbor doe's not agree about the property line...
I just told him to take me to court, now HE stay's on his side of the fence.

well.. i can undersatnd the neighbors.. birds poop alot and stepping into poo is not cool.I have birds freeranging and I cuss them out when I step into their poo..

Tall fences make good neighbors:)

The turkeys won't roam if you only let half of them out of the pen. I can keep a couple of the older hens penned and the whole flock will stay put but if I let them all out it is like a cross country marathon.

Yes, I've done that too and it works! They have to be one social group to start with though. Then the next day I switch and let the others out.

Yeah I have a JA neighbor like that too except he didn't come tell me. I was at work a couple of weeks ago and my son was in the yard when he heard him shoot 3 times and 3 of my turkeys did not come home including my Royal Palm tom in the avatar. The turkeys that did come home had blood splatters on them. He could have just came and told me they were being a problem but no he had to handle it like a JA so next time I catch his dogs, chickens or cats in my yard it will be payback time. I am a strong believer in do unto others as they do unto you.

Will you be my neighbor? I'm annoyed with my neighbor's dog but only because its here every night and morning and knocked me down last night. I wouldn't mind your ducks and turkeys though! I have done the half in the coop and half out with my chickens and it works pretty well. Good luck!

Thanks Chickie-Mama! I think it might be a bit of a commute though, considering I live in Alabama! Now my neighbor has said that he wants to put a 60-foot rebel flag on his land. Yes, I know, it's his land, but around here having a rebel flag is a political statment. He may as well hold KKK rallys in his front yard!

LOL...I'm afraid of Turkeys too

My ducks, half of which are wild mallards have been wandering into our neighbors drainage ditch for all the yummy scum and bugs that they find.

She throws rocks at them if I am not fast enough to get them back...yikes.
