pollipazzi's 365 project

this is the beginning of the troublesome month. i had to move all my seedlings, heat mats and lights from the shelves and to the island.
they are too big for shelves.
i have a rack on top of the island that i can hang the lights from.
at the end of the month, they will be too big for the island. then the greenhouse.
i don't realize how much i use the island until i can't.

fox again last night.
he's big!
he's not lingering around the chicken area.
i don't know what he wants. i think he passes through from one field to the other.
a few nights ago, he was here, and i sent the husband out to scare him off.
he just ran straight towards the fox.
the fox stood there for a second like "huh?" but the husband kept going at top speed and the fox ran off.
he did the same again last night.
i think if he keeps doing that, the fox is going to bite him. 😂

this morning i asked if he meant it when he said we would build a proper flu fort. otherwise, i am going to put the hwc on the gazebo.
he said he's off next weekend. 🤞🏼
he hates my shanty town flu fort.

he comes in through the school (far left corner) over the small wall.
strolls past the flu fort, and is always nearer to the house when we get out there. they used to be able to get under the gate, so maybe that's where he's headed, but i have it blocked off now. last night he jumped over the 6 foot high wall like it was nothing.
it's more like 8 feet on the other side because next door's garden is a lot lower than ours.

The bird flu disappears in spring. You might just as well wait until autumn to build something.

A cheeky fox is another thing. I am more afraid of foxes for my chickens than of them getting bird flu.

me too! but i don't want to wait until autumn. i want to be able to give them more room if they have to be in for awhile. then i can close up the regular run at night. but i can't leave them in the flu fort when i'm not right there. and if i'm right there, i might as well let them out out.

all over ireland today, there was a fuel protest. all the big trucks, lorries, tractors and cars just sort of parked on the motorways.
terrible pic but we were moving

they've been out there since early this morning.
(what do they do if they have to wee?)

all the back roads are jammed and the supermarket is worse than christmas time.

they think the government will cut the tax on petrol and diesel if they do this. i don't think they will. 🤷🏻‍♀️
i'm sure it really messed up people's commute to work and people getting to appointments.
i mean. i guess it's worth a try?
i'm not sure what i think.
maybe another way that inconveniences the government but not everybody else?

Do you know the banana flavour sweets that are yellow and banana-shaped, and soft but not gummy like haribo? The shrimp "foam" is like those.

It's kind of like the non-licorice bits of dolly mix but slightly softer.
Good description. I have had the shrimps and the banana kind but was struggling to put it into words.

Kind of in between a firm marshmallow and the white bit on some haribo. Apparently I was thinking of liquorice allsorts, not dolly mix, but I think both of those have the fondanty type sweets. Similar to those too. Sometimes very slightly... grainy..? isn't exactly right but I can't think of a better one, but not in a bad way.
More chewy and rubbery than the white part of liquorice allsorts.
