My New Babies...Isaac, Suede and Deville babies!

Gosh, my Maisy looked just like your chick. Very yellow, but in a week, she lost all the yellow and is now looking like a true splash. I am at work so I don't have a picture to post for you of the before and after.

Well, yep, either dark blue or black, LOL. You'll know when the feathers come in. In that pic, he looks black, no, blue, no black, LOL> I've been fooled before. If there is no green sheen in the feathers once the little Suedelette is fully feathered, I'd say dark blue (what some call "dull black")

OK, I just looked at the pics again and that baby looks definitely blue! What changed? Now, it looks medium blue. I think that is a blue baby. Yep. BLUE.

muahahahahahaha I caught Husband bigtime! I was coming out of the shower to check on the babies who were fussing a bit. Lo and behold there is DH standing over the brooder, rubbing cannonball on the chest and soothing them.

I said "Babe whatcha doing?"

Him: "This one is mine, right?"

Me: "Yes, we think that one is your rooster"

Him: "Ah good, he is spunky"

I look at cannonball, who is securely tucked into DH's hand, and he has a beak full of skin and is hanging on!

Me: "What are you teaching that chick?"

Him: "nothing

"

Holy Crap...he is trying to turn my chick into a mercenary or something, I just know it!


What is up with these Delawares and their bulldog grips Cyn?

Seems to be a breed trait, LOL. They are a feisty bunch. Even Isaac did that as an older youngster and we put a stop to it by grabbing and holding his beak. He quit biting. The ones that don't quit but escalate are the ones that can't stay here.
