I have heard wonderful things about this bread! Farms around us have them for flock protectors and they do a great job at it. We saw an ad on craigslist of someone needing to re-home their adult dog because of a move. If it wasn't for the landlord having bad experiences with previous dog owners, we would have leaped at the offer and kept him in the barn with our flock.

Enjoy your new additions and keep posting those adorable pictures

Im hoping I will have a guard dog for them when Copper gets old enough.. But hes Chiuaua mini pincher mix so he is very tiny not sure how much protection he will give them but this summer Im gonna see if I can kinda intigrate him into my flack of 3 hens and 2 ducks lol... Not sure how well that will work out.. But he spends alot of time with them... When I go out to take care of them during the day.. Hopefully soon

Oh my gosh! They are adorable...I'm in love. I hope you'll be able to keep this thread going by posting the pups' antics.

Oh wow! So cute! The only guardians we have for our backyard flock are a noisy pair of wood pidgeons that make a loud alarm cry whenever the local currawongs come to steal the chickens food

It's a simple life in suburban Canberra!

They are beautiful dogs and I hope it works out for you. I have often thought of getting a dog to help my protect my flock. The Great Pyrenees is an amazing breed but as far as I know not proven on birds. Please let us know how this works for you.
