That should be against the law. It is a mailed package, and someone besides the person who it is being shipped to opens it?!?!?!?!? I would be very mad! Probably cuss someone at the post-office. My post-office deals with chicks alot and doesn't mess with people chicks. My mail man actually delivered my chicks to my house cause he knows me personally.

cool, ya it should be, its OUR mail so why should they be able to open it??? and they set them on heaters and its so crowded they overheat fast and if they didnt do that prolly only a couple chicks would have died

Next time you order chicks I would let the PO to not open them, treat them as fragile but nothing else. I've only had 1 experience with ordering chicks so far and it was great. I ordered 27 from Murray and didn't lose a single one (It was in the summer time though). I have 34 coming around March 20th, I hope it is warm enough whenever they ship and come that nobody will mess with them. I have a feeling though that my odds are stacked against me this time. I've raised 37 chickens from day old and haven't lost one until they were older, all to dogs. I think my luck will probably run out on this batch. I know I'm due to lose a few in this batch. Hopefully, my luck so far will prevail.

, there he is!!! ya we'll make sure the hatchery knows to tell them, LEAVE THE CHICKS ALONE

Here are my chicks again at 8 days old! Wow! They have grown so much in the last few days! It's amazing! I'm going to be taking pictures every 3-4 days and posting them, unless I get into trouble for posting too many pictures hehe.

Trying to take a picture of the white/yellow chick but someone wants camera time...

I'm sad this one's blurry

The whole time I was taking pictures a couple of the Barred Rocks and one EE kept jumping up on my arm to perch.

Oh my goodness they are adorable.

They are sooooo cute. Yes please keep posting ! I can't wait to see more :)

Ok! I will! As long as I have an appreciative audience I will keep posting pictures as they grow up! I know I enjoy looking at other people's pictures and I always wish they posted more then just the first day.

I deal with the Anchorage post office when my chicks come in, they don't open the box for any reason. Walk in the door you can hear them chirping, they go right back and get them. Not placed on a heater but they are also not near any opening doors, so I guess you can say they do try to keep them warm. I'd ask the manager at your PO what the deal is, they're not allowed to open mail and your chicks are mail. The Main PO at the airport is where my chicks come in at, they called me at 6am and told me they were there, if there is a line pass up everyone and go to the front, they want them chicks out of there in a hurry.
