Thank you for the advice!! I will try that! If I took some out of the freezer and let them thaw, is that the "way" to do it? I tried feeding them sliced up grapes and lettuce but they didn't even try it:p

Everyone has their own way of feeding, but mine like me to put the peas into their little cement tub that they bathe in, when I fill it in the morning I put in the peas and they all gather round and BOB for Peas. be sure to have your camera ready. They will eventually eat them out of your hand. Now that it's getting cold here I will bring out a pot of warm water with peas in it for them. they really don't have to be thawed if you put them in warm water.

I will just experiment and use your guys' advice!! Thank you both! I just hope they will even try the peas, b/c if they don't, I don't have "any room" to work with! They didn't even eat their grapes and lettuce

Well it may be that they have never been offered anything other than their feed, we all tend to spoil our ducks etc.

so patience is the name of the game. one thing is you can leave them and they will probably get curious enough to try them eventually.

I made progress today!! They came out of their house, and I sat down by the fence and their water, and the came near me! (about 2 arm lengths at the nearest) They'd preen, shake out their feathers, dip their heads in their water (so I am guessing they are getting more comfortable around me to do those things!). I have a question, though. Both the female and male did this, but more the male. The male would start shaking his tail feathers, thrust his head out to the ground and bob back in forth while walking, also with his stomach low to the ground. The female didn't do it as much or as exasperated as the male. Can you duck experts help me

I could probably catch a video of him doing it if you need more to look at. Another thing, I haven't seen them swim in their water yet, but I think they will. It may be too high for them to realize they could probably jump up into it, so I am thinking about digging a whole and lowering the tub just a bit. So, anyways, today has been a success! They have definitely begun to trust me.

I tried that today!! Thanks for the idea...though, they were a bit stunned by the warm water, so they didn't try any peas. I did leave the tub in their house tonight to see if they try any w/o me there. I will probably try duckgirl's method, too.
