My new Golden Sebrights! *PICS*

I love my Golden Sebright and Silver Sebright. Currently I am breeding the two because my little SS hen died so the hen I have now is a golden with a Silver Roo. I absolutely adore them. I set one egg only so far and it hatched out the sweetest little silver baby you have ever seen. My Golden hen is a wonderful layer and the other eggs I have not set have been fertile as I have seen bullseyes in all of them.

Congrats on having a beautiful set!!!

You really lucked out with those! They're gorgeous! Gold seem so much harder to get correct lacing with.

I've had several sebrights and they were never my most laid back breed by any stretch. Granted the ones I raised were much more calm and tamed but the ones I have now, a silver pair are flighty. Well the male is. The pullet is much more laid back. I see them being replaced eventually though. They're not good quality.

Let me amend this slightly-show bred Sebrights typically are not great layers. There are some over-sized hatchery birds that are reported to lay well.

Really? My Sebrights are great layers, and I have had 100% fertility this year. The only thing I would say is that the color of the feet should be blue slate colored, I see blue and tannish like coloring on the feet. Very nice lacing though. Also, the comb is the right color. According to the standard of perfection the comb should be bright red, not mulberry.

Odd, my Standard says Purplish Red, not Bright Red? Most Sebright breeders interpret that to mean Red leaning toward Mulberry. I suppose there's a semantic issue at work here but Bright Red, no, that's not what the Standard says.

SO BEAUTIFUL...

I don't know much about the breed but I would try to show your birds they are stunning.
