I wonder if you can use caulking around them?

I can't wait for mine to come in! We have two one gallon waterers and they evaporate so quick and our girls love kicking up sand/poo into them. I've been having to cleaning them twice a day.....

That I don't know. But if you had the right size bit, it would work just fine. The problem with mine was that it was a hair bigger. When I first put it to the test it leaked slightly, so that's why I used the teflon tape.
