Do you have something to keep them from digging under?

Yup, first there's clay under our soil and it's hard as rock. Also, the wire goes down underground and is also stapled onto the landscaping logs. Plus there's our dog who hopefully would not let a coon take that much time to dig!

We had a coon problem during the winter last year. The coop my husbund built is VERY predator resistant. the run is not though. The coons would dig under the run and get into the food and water. We dispatched 9 coons and 5 opossums (and my mom's cat..lol) in a short period of time. Our area was having a terrrible time with coons and we live in central FL but I digress............best bait we found was dry cat food. We secured a tuna can in the middle of the bait area so it couldn't be pulled to the side. We sometimes would put the trap inside a trash can layed on it's side so only way to get to bait was indise the trap. Hope you get your maurauders.........jwls

Thats great that youve made the changes to the run.....it looks good.

I would also look on craigslist or backpage for a tin roof.

Also, dont overlook an electric fence. You can get the ones that plug in quite inexpensive on ebay!
