Just adopted a Buff Orpington hen (don't know how old she is, but I would guess around 3+ yrs.). Couldn't believe my eyes when I first saw that she was "toe-less." My plan is to keep her in the house for another 3 weeks or so and then gradually introduce her to my flock (12) of mixed-breed hens (+1 extremely kind Chochin Bantam rooster). Can't seem to find much information about toe-less hens, other than it is a common practice of commercial growers. She seems to get around well enough, but I am concerned about her well-being with the older flock -- any advice?

(Thanks!!)

She may very well have frozen her toes during some winter of her life. If she is able to get around, she should do fine in your flock.

Hmmm....never thought about that, but considering last winter's weather, it could very well be the case. Thanks.
