My new mystery gray chick!

Hi all! This is my first batch of chicks!

The farm I picked her up from had ordered RI Reds and Barred Rocks from Murray McMurray, but a mystery gray chick hatched as well. I couldn't leave her there, so I was curious as to what breed she could be. The owner said she maybe just an odd colored Barred Rock? We'll keep an eye on her as she grows, but if anyone can point me in a direction, I would appreciate it

With the feathered feet would bet you have a Blue Cochin as your mystery chick.

The feet do look feathered ... but be prepared for it to be a cockerel (might have been a "packing peanut").

The farm takes back roosters so I should be able to trade it if that is the case! That would be just my luck haha

Your chick does look like a Blue Cochin. "It" will likely turn into a beautiful bird!

The gray is smaller than all the rest with little wing feathers and no tail feathers yet! Trying to be patient haha

Cochins are a very slow maturing breed, especially when you're comparing them to production breeds like RIRs. Patience is key with these birds.
