My new pet snake *PICS*

Here is a pic of another one of my snakes. The colors on this snake are amazing. Totally beautiful snake. We have had numorous offers to trade this one but I would never trade this one.

You guys should be able to guess what kind of snake it is fairly easy but can you guess what part of the country it comes from?

This snake was in a terrible mood this morning when I took the pics. It didn't want to be photographed. The snake was striking at us but we want hold it against the snake. After all if we hadn't been messing with it, it wouldn't have been striking at us.

It is a copperhead. Are you from Charleston? If so wrong area.

I am indeed from Charleston. We have them all over down here, they are the most common venomous snake I see here, besides cottonmouths. We have two subspecies, the Southern and Northern copperheads. Do you have a subspecies in Alabama that we don't have here?

We also have both southern and northern copperheads here to but that snake doesn't come from here. Here is a hint. This snakes venom is stronger than the copperheads we have here in the south.

Give me a minute and I'll photograph a pic of one of my southern copperheads. The difference in the colors between the earlier pic and the southern is a big difference.

You got it again. This snake was caught in Texas. The snake is called a Broadband or Broadbanded copperhead. What the difference is between the broadband and the southern copperhead is the amazing color. The broadbands are a whole lot prettier than the ones we have here in the south.

Be back in a few with a pic of a southern copperhead.

I grew up in Florida and never really fell in love with the Copperhead until I moved to Texas .. they are ABSOLUTELY freakin' gorgeous snakes..

And I've been on the "barely missed" being bit list ...soooo many times.. I almost step on them, pick something up right next to them, bla bla bla .. I have seen soooo many of them.

Love 'em love 'em love 'em..

Oh, neat. I'm really familiar with local/southeastern snakes as well as exotics, but you got me there!

Looking at the picture, I did notice that the bands were different, but I was stuck on the species we have here.

What cool snakes!! Thanks for sharing the pics!

You wouldn't have to go far here to find a spider like that. These are what I have in my HOUSE!
I love all animals, but I freak when I see a spider. I never kill them, Im always running and climbing up something to escape them. Or stripping, because if I see one, then I happen to feel a crawling on my legs and have to lose my clothes ASAP, while running, lol!
Im pretty sure this is a type of fishing spider from my very damp, dirt floor, 150 year old house's basement----Dolomedes tenebrosus, maybe? Think he crawled up for a visit through the plaster by the old fireplace there....
