It doesn't cost a lot in time or money for me to do- I buy the color at Sally's Beauty Supply for $9.00 a jar and do it right at home. It is suprisingly easy, even when doing rainbow!

The color is semi-permamant.

If you wash your hair in cold water, it will last much longer, but otherwise it lasts around 28 days.

ETA: My hair is naturally a medium brown color.
