This morning I noticed that my new 8 month old Blue Laced Red Wyandotte Roo (we adopted him 2 weeks ago?) has a large crack on his top beak!
He seems to get along wonderfully with my small flock, so I can't even imagine how this happened...
The crack starts about half way from the top of his beak, and extends on both sides. Let's just say, it almost looks as if it would snap off if someone tried to grab his beak.
He's eating and drinking, and there's no evidence of dried blood, etc.
What happened? Could this be the result of poor nutrition prior to us adopting him?
Here's the big question...will his beak eventually grow back if it snaps off at the crack?
I'm so worried...we adore him!
