What is the best way to introduce him to my flock of pullets?

30 days is what is recommended. After the quarantine period I set my rooster up adjacent to my pullets so that he had a visual of them but couldn't get to them. One day when I was late getting home my DH called to ask me if I had meant to put the rooster in with the pullets. I asked him "How many are dead?" (No, I hadn't put him in with them). He said that he noticed him in with the girls in the morning and he seemed to be doing fine so he left him there. He didn't hurt any of them despite that they were only 2 1/2 months old and he was almost a year. I let him with them supervised for a couple of weeks and now he's in with them full time.

If you need another rooster I'm trying to find him a new home. He's very protective and goes after the kids when they try to interact with the hens.
