My new rooster friend

My guess he was dumped b/c he is a roo. Lisa, do you have any birds of your own? He's a pretty boy.

That's kind of what I was thinking too. =(
I don't have any birds but I have 3 cats and a dog. I think this rooster sensed that my house belonged to an animal lover and that's why he chose it as his new residence LOL
My dream is to have a little farm one day and I definitely plan on having chickens but unfortunately right now I live in a residential/subdivision and can't keep this handsome guy.

Jerry and I were hanging out today. He is so cool! Wish I could keep him. Curious what all the different sounds he makes means. I like to think he likes me and they are friendly sounds....he does this soft cluck cluck and then kind of a long drawn out coo sound.

Do you have any chicken/farm animal sanctuaries near you? They're the best bet for a good home for your roo.

That is definitely a rooster and he is more likely around 3 years old or older. His spurs are very long.. roosters have rounded nubs for a year or two (depending on breed) .. they get pointed and longer with age. Not sure about the breed, but he is beautiful!

Guys! I need help/advice. A person online said they would give Little Jerry a home. I specified pet home/good home only. BUT on her Facebook page she has pictures of her kids holding roosters and they are tied up. And a video of then chopping a chickens head off. Obviously I am not giving her my rooster but curious why do people the up roosters?? Worried if they are fighting them ... =(

How are the roosters 'tied up?'

I use a tether myself, when one of the younger boys is getting too big for his britches and is making trouble for my chosen head rooster, or when a chook is having troubles with a wing or a foot, but it's a nice day out and I don't want to leave it in the barn.
