My new scovy has a scratched eye lid! What to do? *Pics*

This morning I woke up to my new yellow scovy having a swollen goopy eye. I put her in the bath and wiped the eye with a warm wash rag. After the bath her eye looked better she could atleast open the eye lids. I don't know if she get pecked but that is my best bet. I have read that saline solution is what you should was the eye out with but I don't have any. I have some saline nasal spray that I was thinking we might be able to drip over the eye to wash it out. What should I do?

Your duckling may have gotten something in the eye.

If you are letting her bathe, she will keep the eye clean and that should do the trick.

If it keeps up, you can get Terramycin eye ointment at a feed store. Use as directed on the label.

Here are pics. My camera screan is broke so it is really hard to tell what the pics will come out like.

Here are my best ones.
There is a red spot on the lower lid where you can tell the eye lid was pecked or scratched. I just got done flushing the eye with water so all of the wet feathers around the eye lids are just wet.

Here she just got out of the bath so that is why it looks like she has a dark area on her head. But you can see how swollen the eye lids are.

Her the pic is washed out but you can see where the red spot on the lower eye lid is.

The poor little one...Doesnt look too happy.. Is it possible that it may have been bitten by an insect on the eyelid?? Maybe an ant or even a mosquito?? It could also have has a similar effect on such a little duckling. Hard to know for sure I guess...for if it was an insect - the offender may well have been eaten by now. I hope the little one recovers quickly with regular bathing and the ointment already suggested if needed.

Make some chamomile tea and sponge it onto the eye with a cotton ball while warm. You can also give a small tub to bath in with the warm chamomile water. Chamomile is anti-inflammatory and helps with all kinds of infections/irritations.

Check her nails. Scovy nails are nice and sharp and if she was scratching an itch, she might have scratched too hard.

After she gets out of the bath and I put her back in the brooder she does start to scratch and I know those long nails are probably scratching it making it worse.
