Look at the cool handle for opening the inside slider door!

The little Salmon Favs are trying to find a way in. Notice the little pop door within the big door.

Shoot I am jealous, you have a goat, AND neighbors close by lol We live in a neighborhood that will allow chickens thankfully but no goats or we would have a tiny one here as a pet!

hubby will love that!! LOL

Our lot is a half acre and is zoned R-2 for hobby farming with animals under 75 pounds. That goat looks like he is pushing the limits but he is really a tiny things once all the winter fur falls out. We actually have to goats now but at one time we had four! Too many!

I keep them separate because we have a hawk problem. I let the standards out to free range but only let the silkies out if I am out there. I am planning to put in a little fenced in area with sod in front of the silkie coop so they can go outside and peck in the grass.

Why is it hawk's prefer Silkies?

I have a Silkie that almost became dinner for a hawk, not to mention the 14 others (not Silkies) that escaped.

Just my own opinion but they are smaller and more easily taken down or carried away, they don't see as well with the crest, and they don't run as fast with the heavily feathered feet. Same was true for my bantam cochins. That is why I gave up on having bantams, except for my silkies and I plan to protect them as best I can. They are safely piled in to one nest box right now. One went up the ramp, the other two squawked down below and I had to put them up. They'll get the hang of it in a day or two.

That makes total sense. Since she is the easiest one for us to catch if we come at her a certain angle unlike the others. BTW I visited your page - I LOVE IT!!! The named areas coinciding with a prison facility is so funny. Great job
