I have an old EE that was dumped at my house a year ago that I took in. She has been doing well up until today when I noticed others pecking at her vent and noticed it was bloody. I don’t see any bloody poops anywhere so I’m not sure if she’s pooping blood or if the others are picking on her. She has no feathers at the base of her tail and her back because the others have been pecking at her and I have been treating her. When the others peck at her vent it looks like there may be some chunks of blood. Please help.

Help? You're the one who is there and can remove this injured hen to safety. Have you done that? That would be the first logical step.

Next, you would give her a soak in a few inches of warm water with a squirt of Betadine or just plain soap to clean her off, get rid of the blood so you can assess the extent of the injury.

Can you tell if the vent is prolapsed? If it is, then that is a whole different crisis.

I am not an expert at all, but I would separate her ASAP from the others and clean her up a bit so you can see what is going on.

I already separated her from the flock, cleaned her vent and no it is not prolapsed.

That's a blessing. Does she have any fluid dripping from her vent? What are the condition and color of her poop?

If you have Vetericyn, spray that on the injuries. If you are having trrouble assessing how serious the injuries are, please post a photo of the injuries without the feathers in the way. It helps to spray them with water and smooth them away from the vent so we can get an unobstructed look.
