Thanks for posting the link of the other thread. And thanks for sharing the info on the straw as I was thinking of doing straw but will now use pine shavings (which are free). I was thinking the straw would be warmer.

I heard that whites can carrry a barring gene. Maybe that is what is at play in your chick.

I have read the whites can be hiding a barred gene. Maybe you have one. It will be interesting to see this one grow out.

Your Orps are really pretty.

I had a Barred Rock x Leghorn like your Frodo in that he lost all the points on his single comb from frostbite before he came to live with me. He was the sweetest, friendliest roo and good to all his hens. We gave him the nickname "Knothead" because of his goofy comb.

I can't wait to see Diesel when he is all grown up. That thing is going to be a beast! You're going to have to get him his own feed dish.
